Bought these fins a year ago, had 10 dives with them, loved them, but had to sell them. They are just not for me. These F1 fins are very big and heavy. The rubber is solid and spring straps are strong. These are very durable fins, built to last. But they are only meant for the power-demanding divers. If you don't have strong legs or if you have to do long surface swim, they will give you leg cramp in no time. For those who want a slow and relaxing dive, they are not the best option available. But for those who need powerful fins, they are the best I have tried so far. One time I got caught in current and I wished I had had them at the time. However, most of the time, I'm happy with my SF8.

I was initially worried about the heaviness of the fins, but they are perfect with my drysuit. Now I don't need ankle weights! I've only used them a few times and I'm finding I have better control than my split fins, which is great for photography. The spring straps aren't as easy to put on as my old ones, DRIS gave some ideas to loosen the springs up.

These are possibly the best fins IÂ’ve ever owned. With these fins you can move a lot of water without the fatigue and cramps; like they do with my other fins. The cost is the only drawback I could see.
The foot pockets are large and roomy and the spring straps have large finger rings that your dry glove wonÂ’t get caught in while putting them on.

Another great Hollis product. These fins are a bit on the heavy side but give you the power when you need it. The design of these fins are a work of genius, and the fin straps make it very easy to slip on fast. A big plus when beach diving in surf when you need to get on and go in a hurry. Would highly recommend as I now have two pair.

THESE F1 FINS ARE THE BOMB! IVE HAD JETS AND JUST ABOUT EVERY OTHER FIN AND VARIATION MADE OVER THE PAST 25 YEARS. THESE ARE HEAVY ENOUGH SO MY FEET DONT FLOAT IN A DRYSUIT. STIFF ENOUGH FOR LOTS OF POWER BUT DONT CAUSE ARCH CRAMPS. LOVE THE STRAPS ARE ALREADY SPRINGS SO I DIDNT HAVE TO CHANGE THEM OUT. ANY KICK STYLE WORKS. DRIS DOES IT AGAIN! FANTASTIC PRODUCT AND SUPPORT.

Excellent fins. They're on the heavy side, and need a bit of effort to move around, but deliver great power in the progress. Can be a bit tiring on a long surface swim in the surf, but much better underwater.
I had previously used 2 pairs of generic fins branded by oceanquest/edge gear/etc, but both pairs came apart very quickly so I returned them. That is not something I expect to have to do with the F1s, which look and feel rock solid.
DRIS sent me the wrong size originally (2XL), but that was fixed immediately and I received my size L/Regular fins. They still felt quite roomy in my almost-sock-style 3mm boots, but an adjustment of the spring straps is going to help with that.

I have only previously used Atomic split fins for warm water diving so I had to find rigid fins that would fit my small foot size (Women's 7) in order to comply with my GUE course. I first tried the OMS fins but they did not offer much propulsion since the blades were very small. Also, the OMS fins were neutrally buoyant and my feet felt quite floaty. The Scubapro Jetfins were next and although the blades were much more substantial than the OMS, the foot pocket seemed to allow too much play so that I didn't actually feel like I had much control or efficiency with my kicks. When I tried on the Hollis F1's, I could tell that the foot felt secure and snug in the foot pocket. Underwater, I felt there was good displacement of water proportional to the effort put out. The fins were negatively buoyant so that I was able to grasp the concept of using them to adjust my trim position. I also really liked the spring straps with the loop handle that came standard with the F1's as it made it much easier to don and doff the fins in the water.

I wear a size 11 men (us) and use a size XL F1 fin. I really like where the foot bed falls on my foot compared to other paddle fins. I find that I don't get blisters across the top of my feet like my other fins. Also the included spring straps are top notch, much better than other aftermarket solutions that you have to use for other fins. My perception is that they are just a little more flexi than other tech style fins.
If I lost my fins today I would not hesitate to buy these again (from DRIS this time though......much better service than other places!!!)

Top of the line product, no doubt.
Purchased this fin through DRIS, using it for few dives, pool and ocean dive, and I never interested in another fins.
Perfect for frogkicking, powerful with flutter kick if you need to swim against current. If you have strong leg muscle, this fin will effectively deliver all your leg power.
Warm water diver, beware, you might need few pool dives to rework your trim and redistribute your weight since this monster have negative buoyancy.
Once you figure out your new trim, this fin is amazing and addictive to dive with.
Foot pocket dimension :
Large : Length to heel 10"; width 4-1/4"; height 2" - 2-1/4"
XL : Length to heel 10"; width 4-1/2"; height 2" - 2-3/4"
This is my first purchase with DRIS. Would definitely purchase more.
