EXTREME PERFORMANCE

The Xerotherm Arctic is one of the highest performance undersuits in scuba diving. Constructed using a unique combination of low volume, high insulation materials, the Xerotherm Arctic’s two layer structure creates a microclimate next to the skin, maximising the retention of body warmth during a dive.

Using high density fleece, the Xerotherm Arctic holds air next to the skin and wicks away moisture from suit leaks or perspiration to maintain a dry zone next to the skin. The outer layer is high stretch, abrasion resistant material, which will not interfere with the operation of auto dump valves, and will not cause air to be trapped.

FUNCTION

The Arctic will also continue to perform when wet. In situations even when a drysuit has flooded, the Xerotherm Arctic continues to provide thermal protection.

The suit is designed to maximise fit and performance, giving snug protection to the body, including the feet.

The Xerotherm Arctic is fully machine washable

VERSATILITY

Suitable for wearing underneath neoprene or membrane drysuits, the Xerotherm Arctic, can be used in conjunction with the Xerotherm base layer to provide extra protection for the most extreme diving conditions. (link to layering system page)

Fourth Element’s drybase and Xerotherm products are designed to be used in concert with each other in a layering system. This enables selection of a thermal protection which is appropriate to a wearer’s drysuit and the environmental conditions.

You will probably never buy a more expensive pair of socks, but these are actually worth it. I was using a good pair of merino wool socks in my drysuit. They work fine but my feet were sometimes still cold on longer dives. These Arctic Socks are noticeably warmer, I was surprised by just how much more comfortable they are. And although they add some loft they did not seem to cause any excessive float in the feet. Get a pair and never think about your feet again.

Bought these socks to replace my older 300 gram fleece socks. The material is really nice and allows my feet to slip into my drysuit easily. They were plenty warm for 75 minute dives in 55 deg. water.

Well I have not had any experience of these getting wet, but they are nice and warm. They are not to thick and fit well. If you are looking for a good pair of socks at a great price these are what you are looking for. They go well with the artic package suit.

You need the socks to complete the nice arctic warmth. Although I have used other socks before, nothing kept me warm as these ones since diving in Monterey, anything can happen like your drysuit gets some water and it gathers at your feet. Although it sounds funny, but once the cold comes in, shiver season comes in. These socks even wet will keep you warm and comfortable throughout the whole dive and then you can take it off and dry off your feet. Otherwise, this is a must have addition for you feet.
