Hog Aluminum Backplate

I paired this backplate with the HOG Deluxe Flex Techreational Harness and the HOG Quick Drop Weight Pockets and I have never been more comfortable diving! I am 6’ 255 lbs and this system works great for me.

I typically dive with a steel backplate and harness, putting the weight into something functional rather than lead, but when it comes to travel that's not an option, and I find traditional jacket-style BCs take up too much room in my luggage. So I opted for an aluminum backplate, as it's lightweight and packs easily. The red backplate from HOG looks really smart, no rough edges and dives comfortably. Nice piece of kit, highly recommended.

This is my travel back plate. It reduces a good three pounds from my luggage as apposed to a steel plate. For light tropical dives it is an excellent product. I would not use it for cold water diving as I would have to load more lead in my belt and it would mess my profile.

This is a great Backplate. I have this rigged with a DRIS basic harness and a Hog 23lb wing. This is the epitomy of light, and a great way to dive warm water.

Nice sturdy construction and quality finish. Plenty of holes and slots for mounting to nearly any wing or doubles or singles. It does seem to have a bit deeper/higher profile curve than my DSS plate, but it should still perform well in the water.

Great back plate. I really like the shape keeps your bolts farther away from the back. Its a bit longer then the one I'm currently using and I like that as ell.

I have been nothing but impressed with the quality of HOG gear so when it came time to set up my newest set of doubles I decided to go with this plate. The plate is light weight and well crafted. This plate seems to be rugged enough to handle anything I am going to throw at it after giving it my first set of test dives today. Fits greath with my existing equipment (harness, pad, ect) and was very comfortable to wear. The tanks I'm using are two LP 108 steels and they fit on perfectly where I could reach the isolation manifold with ease. This is yet another high quality product from HOG gear. I find myself switching more and more of my front line equipment to HOG.

As for DRIS they are the best to work with, I have never been to the store as I live in Tennessee but very transaction I have had with them from purchasing equipment to servicing drysuits and talking with them on the phone, they make me feel like they know me personally and that speaks volumes.

Even though I have several local shops to use the only shop I have ever used and will ever continue to use for all my gear purchases from my first transaction and in the future is DRIS.

I highly recommend DRIS to everyone I know and they are the best in my book.

Great Plate well made no rough edges and has a nice finish. I bought the stainless and then added this one for doubles. I would say this as as good as any other plate and is even less money
