The thumb release is in a very natural position so you don't have to worry about setting a click position like on more expensive reels.
The line does seem a bit light for strong seas, but it has not given me any issues so I can't complain about that. The only real negative is that with thick gloves it is more of a 2-3 finger hold. It could stand to be a bit wider for more comfort.
