Great Double Ender but check Spring Tension Before Diving

I purchased this item in February of 2019 as I needed a large bolt snap for cold water use with thick wet gloves. The double ender is solidly built unlike other cheap versions out there that you would swear were hollow inside for how light they are. I did reduce my rating from 5 stars to 4 because I was lazy and didn't look closely at the spring tension till on the dive site on a chilly March morning with snow run-off flowing in the river. I decided to use the double ender anyways and paid the price when i didn't notice my back-up dive light was missing (which was attached to the double ender) till the end of the dive. This is really more my fault than DRIS as I should have inspected the snap upon receipt. Will I purchase this product again? Absolutely, I will just do what I normally do and thoroughly inspect before use.

Nice Large Double-Ender

I have big hands, and wear dry gloves, so having a good, long double-ender is handy. The finger slides (or whatever they're technically called; toggles?) have an eased edge, so they're easy to manipulate with those gloves on.

These are great clips! They are the perfect size and very durable. The springs are high quality and the steel holds up very well. I have had no issues with corrosion or the springs. I have had other clips before that cut my fingers but these don't! They're great and I definitely recommend them!

Just what I was looking for

I bought two of these snaps, one to secure a light head and another to serve as a backup incase I lost one of the ones I use to secure finger spools. Constructed of stainless steel, the snap's gate is sturdy. I would recommend against using this to clip directly to something (ie, a reel) as it causes the reel to hang funny and cannot be cut free in the case of an entanglement. For such applications, a 3.5" swivel bolt snap should be used.

I purchased a bunch of these for me and a friend. I have had no problems so far. My friend had I go bad on him (bad spring). I guess you can get a bad apple from time to time.
