"V" Weight Pouch

Excellent product and service.

Overall this item works well. It is very easy to attach and does not have to only attach to the middle of a back plate. It holds the lead shot well and I haven't had an issue with it spilling out. Overall this is a good way to add weight higher on the body without undoing shoulder straps.

Works great with an AL BP. I used it to add 4lbs of lead shot. It does come empty, so you can buy lead shot at a sporting goods store, or use another soft weight's lead. At 4 pounds, it fit nicely behind my backplate on a set of Steel Doubles. The holes are 11 inches on center.

IF you have an aluminum backplate you may want more weight to get better buoyancy. It is a pretty good weight system for the price.

I have used this product and can identify with some of the issues being raised. This product is an excellent product if it is not over filled with lead. As long as you intend to not use more than 4 lbs this would work well. Attempts to fill this with more than 4 lbs could cause the issues some users describe. 4 lbs is a lot of lead guys. The rest should go in your weight belts.

I added one to better adjust my trim when diving in cold water climates. Since I use about 44 to 48 lbs of lead, I was having trouble with my trim and added this weight pouch and some tank weights to balance it out. Works well.

I have one of these for my Aluminum backplate. I usually dive warm water, but when I need my wetsuit it is nice to just add this weight instead of re-rigging my harness onto a steel plate.

I bought this as a way to reduce the weight on my weightbelt. I found leadshot at a reasonable price at a gunshop. The velcro flap system is difficult to open, but retains the lead without spillage. At first I thought it would dig into my back, but it attaches to the backplate between it and my back without my even noticing. Great idea.

I really like these weight pouches. They are well made and the double velcro assures the lead shot is not coming out. These weights work perfect for me diving dry. I clip these weights to my BP/W with D-Links and when I'm ready to dive wet, I just unclip them. They are never in the way. I ordered these and they arrived pronto! The folks at DRIS are a great bunch and very helpful.

This is not a "review" as such but hopefully some helpful info adressing issues raised in some other reviews. I am about to order one of these to add some weight to my ali plate when I need it (when it gets cold). I usually dive steels with little to no wetsuit in summer and a steel backplate is too heavy. I don't want the hassle of owning 2 backplates and switching between them.

I hate the idea of bags of little lead pellets, anywhere. I had some soft pouch weights once and they used to leach onto whatever they were left on. I don't want this on my back, or splitting open on a boat. I have some lead sheet that I will cut into strips the same size as the pocket. Each strip will be about a pound I am guessing.

So adding the required number of strips will a) be easy to gauge, b) eliminate the above pellet issues, and c) it will stay in one place in the groove unlike a half filled pocket of lead shot.

For $13 I can't see a downside!
