Tech Buttplate

Dive Rite
When sidemounting stage tanks or rebreather bailout bottles, buttplate rails can be difficult to access if backmounted gear covers them up. Problem solved with our new Tech Buttplate. Its rectangular shape places tank attachment points at the edge of the diver's body, while outrigger hardware is easy to find due to its orientation facing outwards on the plate. <br />

I like it Butt. . . .

I like it Butt. . . .

I really do like the Butt Plate and maybe it was just me and my installation but the heads of the screws (backside) were sort of rough and tore up the skin of my White's Fusion Drysuit before I finally figured out what was going on. I caught before I ever go wet and have since files them smooth and covered with old neoprene so as not to mess up my new drysuit.

Buy It, It Works
Review by
I have tried 3 different brands of buttplate for my rebreather, and this ended up being the only one that worked, I could reach the rear rails and clip off the bailouts with no need for any assistance. Now I've used the same style on my Open-circuit doubles, and once again, they worked better that the other styles I already had. You can try the other styles and brands, but you might as well save time and money and buy this one.

Bought another one

I bought another one for my warm water trip. The first tech butt plate worked so well, I couldn't go back to slinging the tank at the chest and at the hip, it is now sidemounted and so much easy to stow it away but east to get to if there is an emergency. Otherwise I am wearing my chunky drysuit and it makes getting to my D-ring so much easy.

have a HOG backplate but this extension will not align with the drilled holes on the HOG backplate. Will have to return for credit.

Should be requirement for rebreathers
Review by
After putting the buttplate near my rear end, attaching the bailout tanks got so easy, no need to put them in the counterlung hooks, no need to scream for help for the divemaster. The plate was rectangle which made it easy for me then the standard butt plate. The price is very much right on the ball otherwise, sidemounting tanks should have been a requirement when training with rebreathers..

Works great

Pretty excited about using this butt plate. Whether diving CCR or doubles, this will pull stage bottles lower and closer to the diver's sides allowing for a pseudo side mount hybrid freeing up the chest area of clutter. Arrived on time, with SS mounting screws. You'll also want the bungees and large snap links

Great product

Great buttplate to use with doubles or a CCR. The mounting holes are 7" from center to center, so depending on the BP you are mounting to you may need to do a bit of drilling. My BP is aluminum and this was no problem. Comes complete with 2 of the mounting screws, so no need to order them separately.

The guys at DRIS were great about helping me to figure out the spacing of the gromets to make sure this would fit on my apkes backplate. Having the D-Rings fixed and located on the butt plate helps tuck my deco cylinder away while wearing doubles.
