PADI Tec 50 Course: Master Extended Range Decompression Diving
Reach the culmination of the PADI Tec Deep Diver program with the Tec 50 course! This challenging final step builds upon your Tec 45 skills, qualifying you to plan and execute extended, accelerated decompression dives down to a maximum depth of 50 meters / 165 feet.
As a certified PADI Tec 50 diver, you'll demonstrate mastery of technical diving principles. This course focuses heavily on:
- Mission Planning & Execution: Developing meticulous plans for complex dives and executing them flawlessly.
- Advanced Decompression: Utilizing up to two stage/decompression cylinders with EANx or pure oxygen for accelerated decompression stops.
- Emergency Management: Learning to handle more complex emergencies that can occur on deeper technical dives.
- Technical Diver Mindset: Solidifying the critical thinking, problem-solving, and situational awareness required for this level of diving.
The course structure involves two knowledge development sections, three practical application sessions, and four open water dives where you put your advanced planning and skills into practice.
Optional Tec 50 Trimix Certification:
You can opt to complete this course using trimix (with up to 40% helium content in your back gas) to decrease narcosis and gas density at depth. Successfully completing the course with trimix certifies you to use these specific helium mixtures within the Tec 50 limits.
