PADI Tec 40 Course: Your First Step into Technical Diving!
Ready to move beyond recreational limits? The PADI Tec 40 course is where you begin your journey into technical diving. Serving as the first part of the full PADI Tec Diver program, this course bridges the gap between no-stop recreational diving and planned decompression technical diving. You'll gain valuable experience and start building the essential knowledge and skills needed for more advanced dives.
The Tec 40 course qualifies you to make limited decompression dives down to 40 meters/130 feet, using enriched air nitrox up to 50% for decompression. It's a challenging but rewarding step that enhances your diving capabilities.
Throughout knowledge development, three practical application sessions, and four training dives (often completed over a weekend), you'll learn about:
- Tec Diving Fundamentals: Understanding the risks and responsibilities involved.
- Technical Equipment: Properly rigging and setting up technical diving gear, often involving doubling up on equipment like cylinders and regulators.
- Planning for Tec Dives: Mastering gas planning, understanding oxygen limits, and basic decompression planning.
