Quick and easy

quick and easy to use. They hold lots of weight. I only have a 5 lbs shot bag in each of mine but they could easily hold at 1-2 more each, 10 lbs pockets. The velcro release is strong enough to hold weight but easy enough to pull to be safe. The d rings on the bottom are perfect for attaching your spg. They even look pretty good.

As expected, great quality from HOG. The pockets easily hold 10lbs each if not more, and price can't be beat; great for drysuit dives which may require additional weight. One thing to note is that the pockets naturally require some space on the harness; for someone like me who's a pretty skinny fellow just ensure that you can still tighten the waist strap. I had to adjust my buckle to make it work but very happy with the purchase. DRIS was outstanding as usual. Highly recommended.

I'm really starting to like HOG gear. This is a very simple drop weight system that I just added to my travel system. Like most ditchable weight systems it doesn't have a pouch within a pouch. Instead it is more like a trapdoor at the bottom. They are durable and simple to use.

Best pockets for the money

I ordered these with my DRIS backplate wing package. They fit the 2" webbing just fine. Like every pocket i've used, to fit the 5 or 10 pounds, it just about has to be a solid weight the size of the pocket. If you're planning to put 5 pounds in each pocket you probably want the 10 pound pockets.

I have a few products made by Hog and am very impressed by their quality of construction. These weight pockets are solidly stitched out of strong and high quality materials. They mount straight and without much wiggle meaning that they stay put. Operation is simple and intuitive..Zipper on top to drop the weight in and an easy to locate loop to pull down to drop the weight. Additionally they make a handy spot to store a small item if needed.

These weight pockets are very nicely designed for both the quick top load via the top mounted zipper which makes weighting changes a breeze, and also for thumb-loop release design. The only thing that I really do t like, is the zipper pull on the right pouch being so ewhat in the way. Though I certainly understand the idea of only manufacturing the weight pouches in one configuration to keep costs way down, having dedicated left/right pockets with the zippers opening in opposite directions would have been nice. I have figured out to tuck the zipper pulls under the velcro opening flap to secure them out of the way though, so they cannot be accidently snagged & opened, they potentially releasing the weights.
