This redesigned unit offers enhanced flexibility and dependable operation. The Nerd 2 is remarkably small and features a simple two-button interface for navigating its state-aware menu structure.
The Nerd 2 requires a mount for proper positioning. It is typically packaged with either a mount option for Closed Circuit Rebreathers (CCR - DiveCAN/Fischer versions available) or an Open Circuit (OC) regulator mount (fits 17-21mm diameter hoses). Ensure you select the correct configuration for your setup.
The Nerd 2 is a fully capable decompression computer supporting multiple modes:
Connect wirelessly via Bluetooth® to Shearwater Cloud or Shearwater Desktop (Mac/Windows) to download your 1000-hour dive log and update firmware. The Nerd 2 is also capable of displaying tank pressure wirelessly from up to four Shearwater Swift transmitters (transmitters sold separately), providing Gas Time Remaining (GTR) information for one selected tank.
The internal rechargeable Li-Ion battery provides 18+ hours of dive time on medium brightness and recharges in about 4 hours using the included USB cable and recharging clip. A portable charging bank (providing approx. 5 charges) is also included. The Nerd 2 features a 3-axis, tilt-compensated digital compass and is depth rated to 300m / 985ft.
Important CCR Note: When used with a Closed Circuit Rebreather, the Nerd 2 functions as a monitor and backup computer. It does not directly control the CCR unit like a primary controller.
