ScubaMax Blunt Tip BCD Knife: Your Practical Cutting Tool

Looking for a functional cutting tool to mount on your BCD? The ScubaMax Blunt Tip Dive Knife offers specific features suited for the needs of a diver, all in a manageable size that won't get in your way.

Why a Blunt Tip?

The blunt tip design is a key feature, chosen by many divers for two main reasons. First, it significantly lowers the risk of an accidental puncture to your BCD or exposure suit. Second, the sturdy, flat end can be used as a prying tool for small tasks where a sharp point isn't needed or wanted.

Construction and Dimensions:

This knife is constructed with a 420 stainless steel blade. With an overall length of 7.5 inches (19 cm) and a blade length of 3.25 inches (8.3 cm), it's a great size for mounting on a BCD grommet or hose without being overly cumbersome. The knife comes complete with a plastic sheath for secure stowage and attachment.

And yes, a purpose-built dive knife with a proper sheath is a much better option than that old steak knife from your kitchen drawer you were thinking of filing down. We see you. We've all had the thought.

Add a useful cutting tool to your dive kit! Order the ScubaMax Blunt Tip Knife and Sheath today!

Disappointed

I really wanted to be happy with this knife. I lost my first one when I didn't confirm that it was clipped into the plastic housing. I bought another. It's a convenient size for a BC attachment, but it rusts in salt water despite rinsing in hot, fresh water after a dive.

Cheap knife

the knife ins't that great. It works but it is not very durable. It will rust unless you treat it very well by coating it and drying it well before storing it.

Decent knife...bad case
Review by
The knife that comes with this set is great...will work for diving, no question. However, the case that comes with it is setup in such a way that it mounts to a harness with the tip of the knife at the harness, which means the knife sticks up WAY UP. Not comfortable to wear as a hip mounted knife.

It's cheap, but it works OK

It's a knife, it cuts, it's cheap....
The knife actually works well for me, the sheath leaves a lot to be desired, but for the price, it works fine.

Has worked well

I have used it for two years (about 100 dives). I wasn't sure about the sheath, but it works well and has held up. I pull it out to dry after every day of diving. I just make sure the velcro is tight when I put it back. It is nice for the price.

Ive only used it in fresh water but so far no problems, the pouch seems to fit the knife nicely. Great quick service from DRIS.

Like the other reviewers have posted, the sheath slides onto your harness through a 4 inch opening on the back so it is not secure, I ended up having to use electrical tape to hold the sheath in place and to prevent it from flopping around. The knife rust very easily and needs to be rinsed and taken care of immediately after leaving the water. In addition, the knife is not all that sharp, if I did it again, I would have bought a slightly nicer knife, but at 15 bucks, it could be worse.

The sheath seems well built, but the blade of the knife rusted after its first dive in the sea, i haven't used it in the sea since as its only going to get worse.

I guess I should have watched the video instead of going off of the product specs. The specs says that the sheath has a 2" loop in the rear to go on webbing. I assumed this meant the top part had the lop.

It does not. Instead ot has a 4" loop on the bottom which means I'll have to do some sewing to get it tight enough to not slide around on my webbing and it won't go down the 5" or so that I had hoped for to wrap my primary hose around.

Guess I'll get a pair of shears instead and but this somewhere else on my harness.

this is a nice little knife, sharp and seems to be put together well ,the velcro loop is a little tricky to open and close with gloves on but you will never lose this knife like with the cheap plastic holders, you will have to dry and lube it after dives to keep it from rusting , good value
