Good notes
Review byj
These are good notes. They work well. The pencil isn't perfect. The wet notes themselves are great.

Great for underwater communication and notes
Review byjessi
This is great for underwater communication and notes. It is small enough to be stowed away in a BCD pocket, but big enough to be useful in writing down messages even with gloves on.

Notebook of choice
Review byDouglas
Although this notebook isn't perfect, I haven't found a better solution for a fairly large underwater notebook. Wetnotes are bigger and easier to use than the nylon book inserts. We use these books for U/W investigation notes, the pages are large enough to be useful, but small enough to fit easily in a thigh pocket. I don't much care for the pencil, so we use the old plastic "push-up" lead pencils that you get at the dollar store, which have a dozen or so small leads on plastic tips that once dull, you just push in to the base of the pencil to push forward a new lead. The pages stay in well and it's possible to erase pages without too much trouble using a "Magic Eraser Cleaning pad"

Wasnt really sure what to expect when i purchased these, but after having used them i do like them IF i have to write a lot while under water. Otherwise, i prefer a regular slate. The cord leaves alot to be desired as well.

I really did not know what to expect from "wetnotes", being a new to the type of diving that has a need for this type of item. I was really pleased that the pages are reusable. The spiral bound set of coated pages are very sturdy, and clean easily with a magic eraser or something of that sort. The pencil is also great. The yellow plastic cover could use some improvement though, but is still intact after half a dozen dives. I used a zip tie and a bit of bungee cord to make a loop to secure the notebook in one of my pockets.

I have to say I'm surprisingly disappointed with HOG for these wetnotes. Right off the bat, the cheap vinyl cover likes to fall right off the notebook. The pages are 'stuck' together near the binding where the pages are perforated. (I will say that perforated pages are a nice touch though). There is no place to store the pencil, even trying to slide it in the spiral. With or without the vinyl cover on, it just won't fit anywhere. The pencil itself comes with a length of nylon string attached to it, which seemed fine at first, until it got caught in the velcro on my pocket flap.
The good points are the perforated pages and that it's a pretty thick notebook. Whether or not I'll buy another one, I'm not sure.

Love the wetnotes....hate the pencil and the cover though! The wetnotes themselves slip out of the cover and can be put into a better cover (I like the Dive Xtras, but they don't make them anymore). The pencil is little, the string isn't long enough, and the whole thing breaks easily.
But the wetnotes themselves are definitely worth the purchase!

Nice pencil. They work well and as advertised.
I added some bungee to attach it to my drysuit pockets. For the price you can't beat it!

I have these wetnotes and they work great. However the pencil is actually 2 pieces of graphite held in a latex "tube" and can make writing a little difficult because of flex. Also, I have no idea how I will sharpen it when it gets dull. YMMV :-)

super easy to store and use while below the surface, the Wetnotes have become the standard amongst the technical divers I run across. I bought these for a training class I couldn't take but have come attached to the ability to communicate freely and easily underwater.
