The ERDI Non-Diving Specialty Instructor Course is designed specifically to train non-diving members of a public safety dive team to become certified instructors in essential non-diving specialties.

This course empowers you to teach vital skills to your team, including:

• Visual Inspection Procedures: Train team members to properly inspect and maintain dive equipment.
• Tender: Train personnel in the critical role of a tender, supporting divers before, during, and after their dives.
• Swift Water (Non-Diving Aspects): Equip your team with the knowledge to safely support operations in swift water environments.
• Other Unique ERDI Non-Diving Ops: Potentially teach other specialized, non-diving operations (subject to ERDI headquarters approval).

• ERDI Standards and Procedures: Become thoroughly familiar with ERDI's standards, history, products, and procedures.
• Teaching Methods: Master effective teaching techniques, lesson preparation, and the use of training aids.
• Administrative Tasks: How to place orders, process registrations, and handle yearly renewals.
• Risk Management: Liability, insurance, waivers, releases, and accident reports.
• Course Management: Learn how to organize, schedule, market your courses and handle retail sales.

You'll also demonstrate your teaching abilities through academic and practical presentations, and you'll learn how to properly remediate exam questions with students.

Who should take this course? Non-diving members of Emergency Response Teams who have at least one year of experience at the user-level for the specialty they want to teach.

Prerequisites:

• Minimum age 21
• Affiliation with an ERDI facility
• Minimum 1 year of experience at the user level for the specialty to be taught
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications
• Meet all prerequisites for the corresponding instructor level specialty.
