Nex-Gen Pro Dry

Purchased this over a year ago and have an excess of 200 dives in it. It is inexpensive "first" suit or so people say. Well I've invested in a p-valve and pockets. I plan on using this suit for many years. I've scraped against a few sharp rusted wreck corners and it shows no sign of it. For the price it's a five. But replaceable seals would be a great improvement.

I have been diving the Bare Nex-Gen for six years now and it has been an excellent suit. No, it will never look as good as a custom fit DUI but If you believe form follows function, looks will not matter anyway. The suit dives nice and out of the water it dries in minutes. I purchased a Whites fusion while my Nex-gen was in for service having a TiZip installed, I solo dive quite frequently and needed a suit I could zip up myself. The fusion is my back up suit, I just like the Nex-Gen that much. As long as you will always have someone to zip the suit up for you I don't think you can go wrong with the Nex-Gen. Overall it has proven to be a quality and budget friendly piece of gear.

I have been diving this drysuit for almost 1 year with about 50 dives on it. I have to admit that the lightness in materials and simplicity in construction had me worry when I first bought it. However, it has turned out to be great so far.

The drysuit has held up well against my abuse with sand, rock, mountain dust/mud (I dive in some hard-to-access beaches). It is very flexible, allowing a full range of mobility with no restriction. It's also very light, making it much easier for packing and rinsing. I guess this has much thanks to their No Stitch Technology (NST) which allows them to have very thin yet sturdy seams.

I also had doubt in their choice of TiZip, but so far it has been great as well. It is MUCH easier to use compared to a YKK zipper and has not had any leak or problem so far. It still looks like new after 50 dives (with some good care).

The only thing I wasn't happy was that it did not come with a suspender nor pre-installed hooks for attachment. I had to purchase the suspender and then made custom hooks to attach it. Other than that, I'm completely satisfied with this suit so far.

I would highly recommend this suit.

I picked up a Bare Nex-gen awhile ago as a back up to my whites while it was getting new seals. It's a simple suit and has held up well. I have replaced the wrist seals as well as reglued both the inflator and exhaust valves. It seems small in the tights wich traps air in the feet ( gaiters have helped). It's a design that has been around for along time and with a proper fit can be a good first drysuit.
