We see a lot of dive gear come through our doors for service, and over the decades, we've learned exactly what works and what fails. That's why we were thrilled to partner with USIA to help design the Ultimate Replacement Drysuit Boot. We took all our experience and customer feedback to help create a boot that directly addresses common failure points, built for exceptional durability and real-world diver comfort.
A Better Foundation, From the Sole Up:
One of the biggest complaints with standard neoprene boots is a thin, flimsy sole. We started there.
- Why a Substantial Sole Matters: This boot features a more substantial, solid sole. This provides much better underfoot protection and comfort when you have to walk across a rocky shore, a gravel parking lot, or an uneven boat deck in your full gear.
Multi-Layer Upper for Maximum Durability:
The top of the boot is where fin pockets cause the most wear and tear. We engineered this area for a long service life.
- Why the Layering Matters: It starts with a warm 7mm neoprene core. Over that, a reinforced Kevlar top directly combats the constant rubbing and abrasion from your fin pocket. Finally, a rubber coating is applied over the Kevlar for yet another layer of durability, all without sacrificing the flexibility needed for comfortable and efficient finning.
Smart Features for Better Dives:
- Integrated 'Air Gator' Strap: A simple but critical Velcro ankle strap allows you to cinch the boot top snugly. This is important because it helps slow the migration of air down into your feet if you become inverted, giving you more time to correct your body position.
- Heel Fin Retainer: A molded tab on the back of the heel securely locks your fin strap in place, preventing it from slipping off during your dive.

Solid boots

I just installed these boots on my drysuit to replace the old neoprene socks and I'm very impressed with these boots. They are very durable and have very nice features like the fin strap tab on the back and the Velcro fastener just above the ankles. The installation was nice and easy to do my self and I enjoy the comfort that the boots provide. My only complaint about the boot is they do run a little large but it's not really an issue as long as you wear socks and tighten the Velcro around your ankles.

This is a good quality boot that makes for a good compromise between a soft sock / rock boot setup and an integrated soft boot design. (ie. turbo soles).
They are easy to install on most any suit. For a neoprene suit, they are straight glue on. I would recommend sewing and sealing for a tri-lam suit as the boots need to stretched to match the size of your suit leg and they shrivel a bit once removed from the form. FYI, you will need to upsize your fins if switching from a turbo sole style, but they fit the same as most rock boots.

This boot has a very thick sole which is good for protecting your feet. It is also durable so it will last and you will not have issues with wear and tear anytime soon.

I put rhese on a sukt for a local fire dept dive team when their boots tore. I was impressed enough to purchase a pair for my personal suit. Order 1 size bigger than your shoe size and you should be ok. I am getting ready to order 2 more pairs for the fire dwpt suits. So yes i would recomend them. Good boots.

These boots are great and DRIS did a real nice job installing them on my suit. I recommend ordering a size bigger than your shoe size and try them on with your undergarment socks. Then ship them back to with your suit to have them installed.

I bought these boots to replace a torn boot on a OS rescue drysuit. I liked them so much I ordered a pair to replace the socks on my personal drysuit. They are really comfortable and have a good traction sole for climbing up river banks. I like the thought of not having to put on separate boots over drysuit socks. Customer service was good.

I belong to a volunteer dive rescue/recovery team. Trying to stretch our donation dollars, I do all the drysuit repairs for the team. I just installed these boots on a OS system drysuit. I was so impressed with these boots that now I'll have to order a pair for my personal drysuit. They are well built and have a nice traction sole for climbing up them river banks and snowy shorelines. As always DRIS had great customer service from advice to shipping.
