Put a small hole in the top of the hood, off centered, stretch the hood around the vent, then aquaseal it in for a permanent solution.

A tiny piece of gear that solves for a big problem!

I've consistently had issues with air collecting in my attached latex hood on my dry suit, whether diving with my full face mask or half mask. That pocket of air was like a balloon and even threw my buoyancy off a bit in shallower depths. This little bobbin-sized hood vent was the perfect solution. All I had to do was punch a very small hole in the top of my hood and work the bobbin around the opening. trapped air can now escape easily from my hood. Dive Right In Scuba is the ONLY place I found this nifty little solution.

Used this vent to attach to my latex hood on my drysuit. Totally helped to properly vent excess air that entered the hood, and prevented the hood from ballooning up like any latex hood wearers complain about. Great product, easy install. Would absolutely recommend this to another latex hood user.

Mandatory for latex hoods

My viking extreme has a latex hood, and clearing the mask inevitably forced air into the hood. This would then balloon and leak water like crazy as i went to empty the hood. I hated the latex before, and am glad I didn't cut it off out of frustration. With the valve it's an entirely different beast; one I'm glad to dive.
If your latex hood lacks one, just buy it now. I installed by putting a fold in the hood where I wanted it, and using a single hole punch. If you don't fold it you can't get the vent in the center of the hood. No glue is needed, it just stays in place.

Good product if your hood doesn't already comes with a vent or if your vent breaks for some reason. Easy to install and well priced.
