Here's a glove that divers find to be the hottest thing around. This is a warm, insulated, flexible glove that allows you to retain your dexterity. But what's different with this glove is the removable poly liner. The liner doesn't absorb moisture. And it's washable. So get ready for the snow this winter. Reviews
My experience with DRIS has been great from the beginning! Every time I order something it comes sooner than the website states, and it always the correct item!
They installed easily into the SiTech rings, once I figured out the right inner ring to use (Blue, I think). I was a little worried upon initial install that the position of the ring and the length of the glove would have them popping of my hands, but in the water they compress down enough to be fine. I don't think that dexterity is any worse than thick wet gloves. I've been using my undergarment thumb loops to let these equialize past the wrist seals. If I was doing an important dive, I'd use the supplied tubes I imagine, since the loop method will let in a but of water if the glove seal is compromised, but it's not bad overall, and I don't have to worry about losing the tubes for now.
Only complaint is that the liners are long enough to sometimes interfere when mating to the suit ring. I learned this the other day when I had some leakage for the first time. No fault of the gloves or the rings, just lack of attention on my part. Next time I'll turn them under or something. I don't think I can really cut them shorter without having them unravel completely.
I've heard that these are not exactly the same outer glove as the Atlas 660. It would be nice to see a direct replacement outer glove option - the liners will surely last longer than the outers (and they're easier to wash!). At some point I'll probably pick up a pair of 660's to see how they fit though, just as a backup. Finally, I've heard that these can quickly develop a "funk" if you're not careful about drying them. Fortunately they are washable and I suspect that a little Listerine or similar will knock down the smell when/if it occurs.
Overall, it is SO nice having warm hands after diving 45 degree water.
