While the Bio-Seal was originally designed for use for neoprene seals, it will also make a latex type seal more comfortable and less restrictive. This product does contain oils which can cause early wear in latex type seals. Cleaning the seal of your suit thoroughly after each use can help delay this effect. Each seal includes a dry storage container.

I have always experienced small leaks through my wrists seals. Even with the size small, untrimmed silicon seals, I get small trickles of water when I move my wrist or flex my hand. By the end of a typical dive my arms would be damp up to my elbow. I bought the Bio Seals in an attempt to solve that problem.

I had them properly installed, with the Bio Seals snugly around my wrist, with no folds or creases. I had my silicone wrist seals on top of the Bio Seals, in good contact all the way around. As soon as I got in the water I could feel leaks. I checked again to make sure that both seals were being properly used, and they were.

I chose to continue the dive to see how they would ultimately work. By the time my hour long dive was over my arms were completely soaked all the way to my shoulders.

I've had the neck bio seal for awhile now and just got the wrist bio seals. My suit has latex seals. I've always experienced leaks when I tense my wrists, and they solved that problem. However, the new wrist seals are slightly oily and that did cause a bit of curling on my latex seals. I haven't had that problem with the neck seal, but it's older and less oily. So I recommend washing new bio seals with detergent and water before using them with latex seals, and then washing the latex afterward.

DRIS is an excellent shop to do business with. If you need input, they are a phone call away. The seals are overpriced but conform to my wrists. They are as they specify, one size fits all. Very flexible and expandable material. Until you get a hang of putting them on, you will most likely require an extra pair of hands; especially before cold dives when your hands are not as nimble. When seated properly over my dry suit wrist seals, the Bio Seals worked quite well to keep water out. I have the tendency of bending my wrists a lot while playing with the flag reel, camera, compass, etc. That is when water seems to seep into my dry suit. I use tapered seals size small and they still leak. The Bio Seals have eliminated that problem.

These work great for neoprene dry suits. I have yet to experience any wear on the dry suit or on the wrist seals. Highly recommended if you are experiencing some wrist water intrusion in your neoprene dry suit.

These things ate my DUI latex zip seals for lunch. I did one dive with them as instructed (next to skin, latex seal on top, with bioseal between skin and drysuit wrist seal. My Dui zip seals curled up and rippled - it was an obvious chemical reaction. Ruined my zip seals. Don't buy these if you dive latex seals! Of course the result was major water intrusion!
