Description / Dive Alert

DiveAlert is a specially designed, small, light weight air horn that uses quick-connect / disconnect hose couplings to become an integrated part of your power inflator and buoyancy compensator. Installation is easy and only takes a moment.

DiveAlert uses a small amount of air from your SCUBA tank to make a piercingly loud sound. People have been able to hear a DiveAlert one mile away from a diver in need. In conditions where visibility is limited, a DiveAlert can be a life saver.

NO MODS REQUIRED
DiveAlert does not require any modification to your equipment, and it does not interfere with the normal operation of your equipment. The DiveAlert comes in three different models to accommodate different connectors: dB1, dB2, and dB3.

EASY TO USE DESIGN
Simply press the red button to create a piercingly loud sound. Do not point the DiveAlert towards anyone, as it could cause hearing damage. It is that loud.

HOW IT WORKS
The DiveAlert uses chrome-plated brass couplings to attach to your power inflator. The activator button engages a chrome-plated brass actuator valve stem causing a small amount of air to rush by a stainless steel diaphragm, emitting a piercingly loud sound from the injection-molded thermoplastic body.

Maintenance
After each use, your DiveAlert should be pressurized and rinsed with fresh water with the rest of your gear. Make sure that before every dive you check that DiveAlert is installed correctly and functioning properly. When testing, be careful not to point DiveAlert toward yourself or toward anyone else or loss of hearing could result.

dB1
Fits All Standard Inflators

dB2
Fits SeaQuest AirSource 1&2, Zeagle Octo-Plus, Oceanic Air XS & MARES AirControl AirSource 3 QD

dB3
Fits ScubaPro Air 2, Tusa Duo-Air Atomic SS1, Sherwood Gemini, and Zeagle Octo-Z

Excellent dive alert!
Review by
Dive Right shiped it out fast. Received in time for my boat and deep dive that I had planned. You may want to test away from family. Loud piercing sound!

Pretty much as described

I thought this was one of the types that could be used both on the surface and underwater. Turns out it's just for surface use. No big deal... I should have researched a little more.

Tested it on the surface and it IS LOUD!!!

Definitely take the advice of one of the reviewers above and duck your head underwater while using it.
I don't keep it hooked up either. I have it in a butt-pack on my BP. If I need it, it's there.

Does its Job
Review by
Dive alert is a very well made product. It is extremely loud to the point where it is almost deafening. The plastic is durable and holds up well. This is great to keep in the pocket of your BCD to pull out when you really need it. You can keep it on your inflator hose, but it is just another failing point. Great product! Does its job well!

Deafening

This noise maker is deafening. It is so loud that ships will hear you out for over a mile away. Make sure you duck your head under water if you use this!

VERY LOUD
Review by
This is a very loud noise maker. It can be heard over a mile away. I do not leave it connected on my inflator because it is another failure point, but I do leave it in my BCD pocket.

Just purchased, but well worth it.

This is a must have for ocean divers (along with a light stick and SMB). It eased my mind on my last key largo trip, and I can't imagine going out into the ocean without something like this.
Perhaps the only con is that it will hurt your ears. I'd rather be half death and on a boat then have perfect hearing drifting at sea.

I have been diving with a Dive Alert for ten years, only used it twice, this thing is LOUD. Having drifted a long way from a liveaboard during the course of a dive, we let rip with the Dive Alert and the crew on the boat sprang into action to bring the tender.

After ten years exposure to salt water mine has finally become corroded and needs service, I will send it in with my Regs next time they get service, maybe I should have been doing this all along? Great piece of safety gear.
