This retractor really does retract very well. It has a quick disconnect so you can take it off the retractor easily if you need more distance on it. The majority of it is made of quality plastic.

This retractor is very strong and nice. It always retracts back when you are done with it. It is made of good quality plastics so it will not rust and is very durable. I like being able to secure expensive equipment.

The retractor works very well. I never have to fear losing my gear by accidentally not clipping it back on. It is a smart product and I like it a lot.

This is small and not very strong, but perfect for light weight things you do not want to loose. I use this for one of my smaller knives that are held in my velcro because as we all know velcro has a tendency to fail, so if it does this will keep it from dropping to the ocean floor. If you plan to hold something big up, you should use the larger size.

I have one of the retractors and use it to keep a pen attached to my dive log binder. Expensive for what I use it for but works well and has been going strong for the past 3 years.

I bought this retractor to use with my compass/slate combo, but it doesn't have quite enough strength for it. It works fine in the water, but on land my compass dangles :-)

This would only work for something very lightweight, like a map or pencil.

The quick release buckle is so small that it is almost impossible to operate.
