UV light destroys plastics so you should buy a protect like this to protect them. I want my geat to last a long time. My gear still looks brand new. It is difficult to tell how well it is working since I use it on all my plastic and rubber gear.

I use this on my hoses. UV damage seems to be the reason hoses fail prematurely. This extends the life of the hoses.

I use this on my drysuit seals and they seems to retain more of their elasticity. I also apply it to all my spearfishing bands prior to refrigerating them for the same reason. A good product.

I have been using this on latex seals of my drysuit. they seem to be holding up much better than my previous seals by not drying out and rotting. Highly recommended for those like myself that dont have drysuits with user seal the longer i can go without replaceing them the better and this seems to be helping!

Seems to work well on drysuit seals, although I would suspect there are a number of other rubber protectants that would be similar. No complaints really - DRIS packed it well for shipping so the bottle didn't leak.

I've been using this stuff on my whites fusion latex neck and wrist seals, and I'm very happy with it for general seal maintenance. Seems like it works pretty well as the seals look shiny and new after applying this stuff. It's also lasted a while, also so far this bottle has lasted me a couple of years (bought it here in December 2008!), but I don't spray every piece of gear I own either, just the seals. All this being said, this won't prevent you from tearing a seal with a fingernail, which I did do once, and it won't make your seals ageless either. I expect my seals will last longer than leaving them dry, and this definitely does seem to be the case when using this stuff! One last tip: I usually spray a rag or paper towel first and then apply to the seals. This keeps me from spraying the taped or glued areas where you would remove/re-install a seal when the time comes necessary. While I don't have hard data on this, I can envision that this silicone spray may negatively impact the adhesion that a glue will have when gluing a new seal to rubber or nylon that's been repeatedly hit with this type of spray silicone.

I have used this on the skirts of my boating tubes. The skirts have not faded or dry rotted. My neighbor's tubes are approx the same age, and his are noticeably faded.
