SDI Night/Limited Visibility Diver by SDI
SDI Night/Limited Visibility Diver Course: Discover a Whole New After Dark
The underwater transforms at night. Nocturnal creatures emerge, colors shift, and even familiar dive sites take on a whole new dimension. The SDI Night/Limited Visibility Diver Course teaches you the specialized skills and techniques to explore this fascinating realm safely and confidently.
This course isn't just about using a dive light; it's about mastering a new way of diving. You'll learn about:
- Night Diving Equipment: Choosing and using dive lights (primary and backup), personal dive beacons, and other specialized gear.
- Navigation: Mastering navigation techniques in the dark, using both natural cues and your compass.
- Buddy Communication: Adapting your communication methods for limited visibility.
- Buoyancy Control: Fine-tuning your buoyancy in a low-light environment.
- Nocturnal Aquatic Life: Observing the unique behaviors and interactions of marine life at night.
- Handling Disorientation: Learning what to do if you become disoriented, lose your buddy, or experience a light failure.
You'll practice these skills during dives, learning to plan night dives, navigate effectively, maintain buddy contact, and handle potential emergencies. It's all about becoming a skilled, aware, and prepared night diver.
