Claimed to be the world's loudest whistle. I can believe it. Nice and simple with no moving parts or things to break. For me it's a backup to more complicated devices like the Nautilus.

Good whistle which I keep zip tied near my bc inflator so it is available and easily found as soon as I am on the surface if I need it. Plenty loud.

I got the wind storm whistle, the smaller version.
first i though how loud could this little thing be...
when i first blow it all out....i have a headache.
the sound coming out is so sharp!
Please do not blow next to your friend else
u will spoil his/her ear drum.
Have not try it underwater, so i cant tell much.

Good whistle, plenty loud. It's a bit large to roll up in a safety sausage, but fits well in my pocket on a lanyard. Wish I bough it at DRIS and saved some money.

Not sure which item is being sold here, since there are two types of these whistles, the Storm whistle, and the Wind Storm which is the mini version of the Storm. I have ended up with one of each.
The Storm is louder and larger than the Wind storm, but they are both great and very loud. Nice to keep on on the float free diving, and one on the bc for scuba so there is always on there without remembering to pack it.
Unless you have an air source with which to blow it underwater (like an air buddy) dont bother using it underwater. The great thing about the design of these whistles is that they purge of water instantly if your head happens to be bobbing in and out of waves while you are blowing it (instead of flooding and gurgling like a normal whistle)

This small whistle goes with me any time I'm in one of the Great Lakes or ocean, just in case. It is a small price to pay for a bit of rescue insurance if I lose the boat. I've used it at home in the driveway to see how loud it was, and a friend on the other side of my neighborhood heard it. If I ever do have to use it for real, I've got the piece of mind that it should be loud enough.

Huge sound in a small package. This one will leave your ears ringing! This is nearly as loud as a tank-powered surface signal and you don't have to worry about how much air is left in the tank!

This whistle is decently loud and not too large. I've never had to use it, but I imagine it would work pretty well if you're not too far from the boat and need to get someone's attention in high seas or night diving. Probably less effective than an SMB in general, but a bit easier to use if it's already attached to your BC. It's light and small so you can just leave it permanently attached.
