PADI Tec 45 Course: Extend Your Depth and Decompression Skills

Ready to push your technical diving further? The PADI Tec 45 course is the second part of the comprehensive PADI Tec Deep Diver program, building directly on the skills you learned in Tec 40. This course marks a significant step, training you to plan and execute repetitive decompression dives using a single stage/decompression cylinder with enriched air nitrox or pure oxygen.

In the Tec 45 course, you'll extend your depth limit to 45 meters / 150 feet. You'll focus on:

  • Function & Maintenance: Deepening your understanding of technical diving equipment and its proper care.
  • Advanced Planning: Fine-tuning gas planning skills and calculating accelerated decompression stops.
  • Technical Mindset: Developing the critical thinking and problem-solving approach required for technical diving.

The course includes three knowledge development sections, three practical application sessions, and four open water training dives where you'll apply your learning.

Optional Trimix Use:

Interested in managing narcosis at depth? Ask about the option to use Trimix (up to 40% helium in your back gas) during your Tec 45 course dives to reduce narcosis and gas density effects.

Prerequisites:

To enroll, you must:

  • Be a PADI Rescue Diver (or hold a qualifying certification)
  • Be at least 18 years old.

  • Have a current Medical Statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
  • Have current DAN dive insurance (or equivalent).
